Operation Encompass
All schools in Lancashire participate in a project called Operation Encompass, which is run in partnership with Lancashire Police. The project, which commenced on 29th April, 2019 aims to support children who are affected by domestic abuse.
Should a child from our school have been present during an incident of domestic abuse, attended by Lancashire Police, the Police will inform us immediately so that we can be aware of this before the child arrives in school the following morning. This enables us to offer whatever moral support or practical help the child may need.
Each school has a member of staff (key adult) who is trained to liaise with the police, when required, and who will ensure that support is available to the child. The key adult in our school is Mrs Birchall.
If you would like to speak to someone about the project or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Birchall via the school office. You can also find more information by visiting the Operation Encompass website - simply click on the link on this page.
